Prostate cancer statistics for the state of Wyoming

Wyoming Men Encouraged to Consider Prostate Cancer Screening
Because the chances of surviving prostate cancer may be higher with early diagnosis and treatment, the Wyoming Department of Health is reminding men to speak with their doctor about risks and screening options.
“Screening recommendations do vary depending on a man’s age and other potential risk factors,” said Jessica Perez, outreach coordinator for the Wyoming Comprehensive Cancer Control Program at the Wyoming Department of Health. “That’s why we recommend men talk to their doctor about when screening is right for them.”
The Wyoming Comprehensive Cancer Control Consortium is currently aiming to create a statewide prostate cancer taskforce. “This will be the first taskforce created in Wyoming to examine the specific issue of prostate cancer,” Perez said. The group will working on determining statewide screening guidelines, for example, to help bring focus to educational efforts.”
