The District of Columbia Has the Highest Incidence Rate of Prostate Cancer.

According to the United States Cancer Statistics, the District of Columbia has the highest incidence rate of prostate cancer. The mortality rate for prostate cancer is higher in DC than anywhere in the country. The District is seventh in the nation for all cancers combined, and ranks as the second highest for breast cancer and third for cervical cancer.

There are hospitals and medical centers, and many excellent cancer care services, but these services are neither accessible nor affordable for many of the neediest residents—the poor and medically underserved (uninsured and under-insured) populations, many of whom are Black or Hispanic.

Research is needed to bring the costs of diagnosing and treating prostate cancer down.

Support the need for early detection of prostate cancer through simple awareness. Please consider donating that old car, truck, boat or RV to the Prostate Cancer Awareness Project today.
