Did you know?
A Proposed Multidisciplinary Center in Cary a good Option for Triangle.
In 2005, George Shepard, 71, was diagnosed with prostate cancer. From that point on his lifestyle changed. “Instead of working out two or three days a week, I try and work out four or five days,” Shepard said, noting that he manages the disease by staying active, eating healthy and taking medication. He’s never been in an operating room or a radiation facility for the treatment of his less aggressive form of cancer.
To serve the Triangle region’s large number of those with the disease, a proposed new multidisciplinary prostate cancer center will specialize in radiation therapy. And the existence of the treatment facility is dependent on a new linear accelerator, Kevin Khoudary, a urologist at Cary Urology, said.
Cary Urology works with the North Carolina Minority Prostate Cancer Awareness Action Team to educate men in the area about the need for testing. If Cary owns the center, Khoudary anticipates being able to screen thousands of men who would not ordinarily have access to testing.
Support the need for early detection through awareness education for prostate cancer. Please donate your car, truck, boat or RV to the Prostate Cancer Awareness Project today.
Donating your car to the Prostate Cancer Awareness Project will help us ensure we get the word out there and help save lives.
