Did you know?

Rates of Prostate Cancer in Exposed Counties.

According to a research by the Center for Environmental Health Studies, evidence of a connection between cancers of the prostate and exposure to ionizing radiation has been recorded. This connection is supported by evidence from studies of nuclear workers in England who have been exposed to ionizing radiation.

Prostate cancer incidence and mortality rates in Rio Arriba County were among the top third of New Mexico counties. Research conducted of Los Alamos National Laboratory (LANL) workers provides the most direct evidence about possible relationships between a health problem and workplace exposures at LANL.

The next most relevant evidence comes from studies of workers in similar occupations at other nuclear facilities with the same types of exposures. Rates of prostate cancer incidence and mortality for Rio Arriba County were in the top third of counties.

Early diagnosis is crucial in successful treatment of prostate cancer. Help spread the awareness of early diagnosis.  Please donate your vehicle to the Prostate Cancer Awareness Project today.
