UNI President Ben Allen Diagnosed with Prostate Cancer.
University of Northern Iowa President Ben Allen was diagnosed with early stage prostate cancer in November 2010.
He went on medical leave on February 7, 2011, and received medical treatment for prostate cancer. The treatment was successful and Mr. Allen returned to work on March 17, 2011.
