Prostate Cancer Cured in Mice using a Human Vaccine

Investigators and researchers from the Mayo Clinic in the United Kingdom successfully cured prostate tumors in mice with the use of a human vaccine.  With no obvious side effects observed, this cancer treatment approach pushes the immune system to rid itself of prostate tumors, without any assistance of radiation or chemotherapy.  Such a treatment model can likely be used to help people live tumor free some day without many of the side effects experienced from current therapies.

The National Institutes of Health, Cancer Research UK, The Richard M. Schulze Family Foundation, Mayo Clinic, and a private grant funded the study.
